Elegant Purple Summer Highland Manor Wedding
Nicole and Stephen’s Elegant Purple Summer Highland Manor Wedding is one I have been looking forward to for quite some time. I met these High School sweethearts at their Rollins College engagement session, and (on my end at least), we just clicked. Taking pictures of them was completely effortless. They were fun and sweet and smiley-and I was so happy when they decided to have me as their wedding photographer.
Nicole and Stephen held their wedding at Highland Manor, in Apopka, FL. They chose the venue because they loved the idea of having the entire property for the day of their wedding, and they also loved the elegant feel of the house. The feel of their wedding was to be both glamorous and elegant. They used pale purples and pops of ultraviolet (the Pantone Color of the Year) to achieve this look, with the help of tons of beautiful flowers from Lee Forrest Design. Nicole wore a gorgeous Stella York dress from One & Only Bridal Boutique and finished off her look with a pair of Betsey Johnson heels. Signage from Two Peas Designs added personal touches to the day. The bride and groom-to-be decided on a first look, which gave us plenty of time to get wedding party pictures done prior to the ceremony-which allowed them to enjoy cocktail hour after the ceremony.
In Florida, it rains pretty much every single day during the summer months-it’s just a matter of “when”. For this wedding, the rain decided to come right before the ceremony. While it was of course a bummer that the ceremony had to be moved inside, I have to give a huge shout out to all of the amazing vendors who were there. Bonny from P.S. I Love You Productions along with the crazy awesome staff at Highland Manor/Dubsdread Catering, Lee Forrest Design, and Soundwave Entertainment took an already finished reception room and seamlessly flipped it to a stunning ceremony space-and then BACK to a reception space. The ceremony, officiated by Reverend Kevin Knox of A Beautiful Ceremony, was beautiful-and I’m positive that I’m not the only one who teared up!
With Soundwave Entertainment providing both DJ and Lighting services, you already know the reception is going to be a big party. The tables were elegantly decorated with white linens, lavender napkins, and a mix of high and low floral arrangements. Purple lighting from Soundwave Entertainment and draping from W Drapings filled the room, giving a glamorous touch to the space. Party Flavors Custom Cakes provided a beautiful and delicious white 4 tiered cake, with each layer having a different textured design. It was topped with a personalized cake topper and fresh flowers. The couple and their guests danced the night away and we enjoyed photographing the fun alongside the video team of Legendary Films by Damir. As they left the venue for the night, their guests tossed lavender at them to wish them a happy farewell as the new Mr. and Mrs. Ulmer.
