Lexxie and Ricardo’s Book Themed Wedding was…wait for it—one for the books! In all seriousness, their book themed wedding-which they cleverly created the hashtag of #Sheltonsnextchapter was full of not only beautiful and unique wedding day details, but also full of heartfelt moments that most definitely made this sap of a photographer shed tears on multiple occasions, including editing! Lexxie and Ricardo are just two of the sweetest people, and being able to watch them get married was
What I loved about this wedding is that they planned their wedding around what they like, around decor and elements that would mean something to them. Their decor was of course centered around books, and you could find fun elements of decor all around the venue. The table runners were made of book pages and the centerpieces were stacks of books, with a copper lantern on top. The number cards were framed book pages with the table numbers stenciled on. My favorite book-related element was the invitations. I am completely in love with the library book RSVP card! The invitation opened up like a book, and the RSVP card was adorably placed inside. From text printed on the fondant of their cake, book pages incorporated into their wooden flowers, and book pages turned into paper airplanes for their ceremony exit, books were present throughout the decor.
Aside from the book theme, the Lexxie and Ricardo wanted the wedding to have a relaxed, backyard feel. They chose The Big Red Barn as their wedding venue because they felt that it accomplished their goal, and because Lexxie fell in love with the huge trees that hung over the ceremony space. They added more personal elements to their evening by having Shadrach’s Fiery Furnace Traveling Pizza Company stop by to cater. I’m going to go ahead and call this the best pizza I’ve ever had, and it took everything in my power to not take one of the to-go boxes that were sitting on the table when I left for the night! They also had Schmancy Pops stop by and the guests (and perhaps the vendors…) enjoyed the delicious popsicles, which are a favorite of the couple! They also had a S’mores Station, cornhole, oversized Jenga and Kerplunk, and a fire pit. It was pretty darn awesome.
